We are aiming to follow the principles of intersectional feminism. In practice this means that the projects happening in Asemalabra should not include any kind of oppression and discrimination. We hope us to acknowledge existing norms, privileges, positions and power structures and strive towards deconstructing them.

UNPRODUCTIVITY, SHARING AND COMMUNITY
We support and embrace the idea of incompleteness and constant process, never being ready. We want to cherish the importance of unfinished works, thoughts and processes and work towards more open cultural field where failure, trying and incompleteness is a virtue.
We want to focus on “we” and “us” rather than “I” and “me”. This means that the nature of Asemalabra is encouraged to take community into consideration. Regardless of the state of your project or thoughts we wish you would share it by organizing something in Asematila or Haaga area.
We wish Asemalabra to be a space that includes and invites.
PRACTICALITIES
Accessibility info : Since the space is old and protected because of its historical value, unfortunately Asematila is not accessible. There are three step stairs at the front door, thresholds in the space and the toilet is not wheelchair friendly. Asematila ry is collecting money for a ramp.
Practical rules concerning the space
The building where Asematila is located, is not only a cultural space, but also a home for 7 people, hence Asematila’s opening times are strictly 9-21.
We invite the space users to take part in the community’s daily work, either by helping with raking leaves, shoveling snow, cutting wood or by participating in the maintenance of the building/facility. Asematila ry will be in contact with the space users to define together how they could contribute to Asematila.
Asematila is also preserved by the National Board of Antiquities, so the surrounding and the space should be treated with respect. Parts of the walls are covered with old panels, which should stay untouchable, so no mountings of any kinds from tape to screws and nails. The rest of the walls and the roof can be used for hanging, but before drilling a new hole, check if you could use the existing hooks, holes and nails. When you are coming to the space for the first time, someone from Asematila will give you more exact instructions and show around the space and yard.

Haluamme mukailla intersektionaalisen feminismin periaatteita. Käytännössä tämä tarkoittaa, että Asemalabrassa tapahtuvien projektien ei tule sisältää tai tukea minkäänlaista syrjintää tai sortoa. Pyrimme tiedostamaan olemassaolevat normit, etuoikeutemme, valtarakenteet ja -asetelmat, sekä työskentelemään kohti niiden purkamista.

TUOTTAMATTOMUUS, JAKAMINEN, YHTEISÖ
Haluamme tukea keskeneräisyyttä ja loputonta prosessia. Vaalimme viimeistelemättömien töiden, ajatusten ja prosessien tärkeyttä ja pyrimme kohti avoimempaa kulttuurin kenttää, jossa epäonnistuminen, yrittäminen ja keskeneräisyys ovat hyveitä. Haluamme keskittyä “meihin” mieluummin kuin “minuun”. Tämä tarkoittaa sitä, että kannustamme Asemalabrassa tapahtuvia projektieja ottamaan huomioon yhteisöllisyyden ja yhteisön.
Toivomme sinun jakavan Asemalabrassa syntynyttä toimintaa Asematilassa tai Haagan alueella.
Toivomme Asemlabran olevan tila, joka kutsuu kylään ja ottaa huomioon.
KÄYTÄNNÖN ASIAT
Estellisyystiedot : Asematila ei ole valitettavasti esteetön, sillä se sijaitsee museoviraston suojelemassa rakennuksessa. Rakennuksen sisäänkäynnillä on kolme porrasta, tilassa on kynnyksiä eikä vessaan mahdu pyörätuoli. Asematila ry kerää varoja parantaakseen tilan esteettömyyttä.
Käytännön ohjeita
Vanha asemarakennus ei ole pelkästään Asematilan käytössä, vaan rakennuksessa on myös 7 ihmisen koti. Taataksemme rauhan talon asukkaille, Asematilassa saa oleskella vain 9-21 välisenä aikana.
Koska tila, ja koko rakennus, ovat museoviraston suojelemia, tulee niitä kohdella asiaan kuuluvalla kunnioituksella. Asematilan seiniä peittäviin paneeleihin ei tule kiinnittää mitään, niin teippä, ruuveja kuin naulojakaan. Kattoa sekä loppua seinätilaa voi käyttää ripustukseen, mutta tarkistathan jo valmiina olevat ruuvit, koukut, naulat ja rei’ät, ennen kuin tartut vasaraan tai porakoneeseen.
